SEVENTEEN IS VERY CONFIDENT, OFTEN TO HIS OWN DETRIMENT AS HE WILL NOT ONLY UNDERESTIMATE HIS OPPONENTS BUT ALSO OVERESTIMATE HIS OWN ABILITY. HOWEVER, HIS NARCISSISM IS NOT WITHOUT BACKING FROM HIS FIGHTING PROWESS AND GENERAL INGENUITY.

THOUGH SEVENTEEN IS REGULARLY COLD, INWARDLY THERE ARE MANY THINGS HE FEELS STRONGLY ABOUT. HE IS DEEPLY TIED TO HIS TWIN SISTER AND HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH BEING A CYBORG, AS WELL AS HAVING A STRONG NEED TO PROTECT NATURE AND THOSE HE LIKES.

HE'S SNARKY AND UNPLEASANT TO MOST, WITH A HINT OF UNCANNYNESS DUE TO THE JUXTOPOSITION BETWEEN HIS GRANDIOSE AND COOL NATURE. IN SPITE OF THIS, SEVENTEEN IS MUCH MORE "HUMAN" THAN HE CARES TO LET ON.

SEVENTEEN (THEN LAPIS) GREW UP WITH HIS TWIN SISTER LAZULI IN THE SEASIDE DIAMOND TOWN. THEY WERE HOMELESS FOR A MAJORITY OF THEIR LIVES, DRIFTING FROM ORPHANAGE TO ORPHANAGE AND LEAVING BEHIND A TRAIL OF DELINQUENCY. THE ONLY PEOPLE THEY TRUSTED WERE EACH OTHER.
IT WAS WHILE HITCHIKING THROUGH THE MOUNTAINS THAT THEY MET THE SCIENTIST DR. GERO, WHO SUBSEQUENTLY KIDNAPPED THEM.
SEVENTEEN TAUGHT HIMSELF ROBOTICS AND ENGINEERING WITH VARIOUS RESOURCES IN GERO'S LAB AND THE DATA FROM THE RED RIBBON ARMY.
AFTER THE EVENTS OF CELL SAGA, SEVENTEEN FOUND PURPOSE IN WILDLIFE CONSERVATION BUT ALSO IN MACHINERY AND WEAPON MAKING. HE PLANS TO EVENTUALLY TAKE OVER THE REMNANTS OF THE RED RIBBON ARMY AND REBUILD IT FOCUSED AROUND HIS INTERESTS AND PHILOSOPHY.
